Center of Volume

Is there a way to acquire the center of volume for an assembly?

It would be like the center of gravity but all of the assembly parts would be of the same density.

Hi! There are two ways to do it. You can either assign the same material style to all components (a bit labor intensive) or derive the entire assembly as a multi-solid body part. Then the COG will be COV.

Many thanks!

Hi Thaddeus,

Johnson is right. You can also leverage Shrikwrap to create a new part and the COG should be COV.

Jonson

what would the steps be to derive the whole assembly? Opps, I see the next post by Xun shows me.

I did try shrink wrapping, it gave me something so close to the original I didn't believe I had what I wanted, and the weigh was the same.

Thanks,
