Can't select threads (Threads.xls) Inventor 2017

Hello all

I have a problem with creating threaded holes in inventor. Seems it can't open the Thread.xls file.

The thing is that I can place clearence holes. (so it opens the clearence.xls file)

So after looking; people in the past had the same problem:

http://www.inventortales.com/2014/03/cant-select-threads-in-autodesk.html

Looking in the register for inventor 2017 I cant find the register: UseExcelToReadThreadFile

This is very annoying and has to be fixed, can't place any threads at the moment!

Any ideas?

Welcome to the community...

When you create a thread is there any messages?  What happens when you try to do it?

Do you have excel loaded on your machine?  What version of Excel and has it been launched at least once?

Also try this:

  • Exit Inventor
  • Go to Control Panel > System> Advanced System Settings> System Properties, Advanced Tab.
  • Create a new Environmental variable called "UseLibXL" with a variable value of 1
  • Launch Inventor again and see what happens

Hello

Thank you!

I already have an account on the community, its just i bought inventor for myself now 😉 that's why the new account!

There is no message, you can't select the radio button (it deselects immediately). I have excel 2010 and it has always been on my machine from the start 4 years ago. That's why I find it strange that there is no UseExcelToReadThreadFile in my register.

I will try the solution below tonight after work.

Thanks in advance!

You are a hero!

This worked out for me:

  • Exit Inventor
  • Go to Control Panel > System> Advanced System Settings> System Properties, Advanced Tab.
  • Create a new Environmental variable called "UseLibXL" with a variable value of 1
  • Launch Inventor again and see what happens
