After installing Inventor 2020 on a brand new computer I kept getting the same error message.

Can't run :fwUI.dll

Tried to Repair, Reinstall - reinstall windows etc. but without success.

Finally ended up looking in to the Regional settings.
Removed the check mark from "Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support"

And that solved the problem 🙂   -  Damm you Microsoft.....Grrrrr

Hi! This sounds like an install issue. Please make sure all critical Windows updates are installed and .Net 4.7 is installed. And, there is no running Inventor process in the background. Run Repair Install (Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Autodesk Inventor 2020 -> right-click -> Uninstall/Change -> Repair Install).

If it still does not work, please send the Inventor install/setup log files (in %temp%) directly to me (johnson.shiue@autodesk.com).

Many thanks!

Aside from that, please check your Autodesk account or Autodesk Desktop App, there should be a licensing update just published recently.

Please install it and see if it works better.

Thanks!

Funny how the whole post isn't read 🙂 If you read the full post you'll see that the solution was included.
Call it installation issue yes, but more an error from Microsoft that they include a beta feature in a windows update.
And this beta feature prevent Inventor from beeing installed/working.

I am having the same issue.
All critical Windows updates are installed, .Net 4.7 is installed, licensing update has been performed.
Can you please suggest what else I can do to solve this issue? Thanks

In Windows go to your settings <Time & Language>
<Region> and select <Additional date, time&regional settings>

Again the point <Region> and then in the tap "Administrative" click the button "Change system locale..."

In the dialog box there is a checkmark in

Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support

Remove that checkmark and you are properly good 🙂

It solved it for myself 🙂

Hi! Please share the screenshot of the error message you are seeing. Make sure you have all critical Windows updates installed. Have you tried Repair Install (Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Autodesk Inventor 2020 -> right-click -> Uninstall/Change -> Repair Install)?

Many thanks!

Did anyone solved the problem with another solution than the one with fixing the box within windows timesettings?
I installed all updates both for windows and Inventor 2020 have the box unchecked but still having the same issue.

Hi! Your issue may be install related. First make sure .Net 4.7 is enabled. Go to "Turn Windows Features On or Off" and check .Net 4.7. After that, restart the machine. And, perform Inventor Repair Install (Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Inventor 2020 -> right-click -> Uninstall/Change -> Repair Install.

If it still does not work, you may need to uninstall it using Autodesk Uninstall Tool (All Programs -> Autodesk -> Tools -> Uninstall Tool). Then reinstall Inventor 2020.

Many thanks!

Hi,

I have the same issue. I've downloaded and installed Inventor 2020 on a Win10 PC. I have installed all Windows updates and Inventor updates but when I attempt to launch the program I get a pop-up dialog with the title, "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2020\Bin\Inventor.exe" and the message, "Can't Load: FwUI.dll."

I have followed the instructions you have given in this threat but it hasn't resolved the problem.

Can you look into this and suggest a solution please.

Hi! This is more likely your environment related. What Windows version are you on? Have you installed all critical Windows updates? Did you look at Reply#7 on this thread and turn off the option?

Many thanks!

My System is working again. I cleaned up all old Autodesk programs like Fusion and the Desktop Connector. Only reinstall Inventor didn't worked for me but as soon as everything was cleaned up and put back on Fusion and Inventor are working again.

EDIT: Timesettings like suggested before have been on the correct setup all the time
