Can´t register Inventor 2014

Hello,

I just wanted to install Inventor 2014 on a new PC, as the old one isn´t working anymore.

When trying to register Inventor I get the message "Problem with serial- or version no.".

This is a Software I bought in 2014 and I want to use it. I don´t understand, why it isn´t possible to register it. If I buy a car and after 10 years it couldn´t start the engine anymore I surely would be very angry.

So how can I get an activation code for my Inventor 2014?

Hi!

Select offline activation.

Chat with an operator and give them your software name and serial number and the request code.
Most probably they will be able to give you the counter code to activate the license.

If you lost your +10 old car key , the stand is not obligated to keep one copy for you.

The online activate systems are obsolete and they are shutting down. they cannot maintain it running forever.
Keep your pc healthy to maintain the license running, in a couple of years, if the pc "dies", the license also dies.

How do you expect a software which was made for windows xp, keep running well in the new operate system 11?

If you want to update the OP, Make sense to update also the cad software.

I already tried to get an offline activation key. But the support told me that they are not able to generate a key for a 2014 version. So when you compare it to my 10 yrs. old car I surely have the key but I´m not allowed to start the engine.

What I don´t understand is why I can´t buy a software anymore. The new licensing model is (IMHO) very expensive and we can´t earn money with the additional features. Additionally I need to migrate the data after 2 or 3 years to the latest version which takes some time.

I would try to contact other operator and try again. Eventually someone will get a code for you.

Anyway, how can you expect to keep running a 12 years software in new operating systems without issues?

If you had to by a license with the old perpetual system it would cost you about 12000$ and the annually renew about 2000$.
It's not so expensive has you think.

Migrating files is not an big issue, you have tools to do that while you sleep or lunch. Check task scheduler" tool.

Maybe is time to move on... cad is a tool for your job, like the pc, the electricity, machines, etc.

If this tool is very expensive for your job, check other options as Fusion etc.

Hi! I could be wrong but I don't think the ability to generate a code for such old product is available any more. Please upgrade to one of the more recent releases.
