Inventor crashing to desktop when using frame generator

Hi all,

When working in frame generator on large assemblies my Inventor often crashes straight to desktop without any crash report.

This problem mostly happen when I use the Notch command to notch my frame members.

This is super frustrating as i keep loosing all my unsaved work. now I have to notch and save breaking my workflow.

Hi Erik,

Inventor should never crash. I would try a few things. First, go to Windows Display settings and select the recommended resolution and scale. Right-click on Inventor desktop icon -> Properties -> Compatibility -> click on "Change High DPI settings" -> check both boxes.

Install all the critical Windows updates, the latest graphics driver, and all the critical PC vendor updates. Use Windows Disk Cleanup to remove cached files.

Install the latest Inventor update to your release. What Inventor release are you running?

When it crashed, did you send in the crash report? If yes, please send me an email at johnson.shiue@autodesk.com. I would like to understand the crash better.
