can not combine bodies

Hi,

i am having some problems with combining more bodies (10 in my case). I need to create one body out of them since i have to open this file in moldflow and i noticed that multi-bodies are not supported in moldflow. If the model does contain multi-bodies, only the first body is displayed. Then i want to create one body out of 10 and save this new body as a part. I am trying to use "combine" to combine the bodies but it gives me this erroe:

Create combine feature failed

finale.ipt errors occurred during update

Combine8: could not build this combine

The attempted operation did not merge the risults of the face-face intersections successfully. Try with different inputs

I am new to autodesk inventor and i really don't know how to solve this problem. Thank you in advance

Using Combine I had no issue in making a single body.

I added one at a time, then I tried it by adding all bodies that touched the first, then the remaining bodies, both ways worked, gave me "Solid Bodies (1)"

Greetings @Anonymous I see that you are visiting as a new member to the Inventor Forum.
Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

As you can see from the attached screencast it depends on which body you choose first.

I tried to get it to show your error and the different selection order so you can see what the results were. Hope this helps!

I think the easiest way to do this is to start a new part and use the Derive tool to bring in your multibody part, choosing the option "Single solid body merging out seams between planar faces".

I think this will do what you're asking pretty easily, and is, of course, associative back to the original part.

Thanks @SBix26 that is way easier, I was just trying to do it @Anonymous way with the combine command, didn't even think about exploring it like that!
