Can I model something not rigid?

As part of the device I am modelling I have two parallel rods

between which I will suspend a sail or parachute or what-yuh-muh-call-it

something like this.  It will be made from linen or satin or something light (like a parachute).

Is it possible to model something like that in AI18 in such a way as it would behave like a satin parachute?

Probably not.  This type of modeling is better suited to Autodesk Maya.

Thanks.  I thought not.

Perhaps learning Maya is more work that would be worthwhile in this case.

I'll just leave it up to the imagination.
