"Just implement better software practices in the future..
Don't install software until you are sure of its stability.."
@mcgyvr, How am I supposed to do that, without installing the software? I bought the software from a company (Autodesk) that is supposed to be industry-leading. I checked with my reseller before upgrading to 2018, and was advised that "No dramas yet with 2018. We have a number of customers using it already, including a couple of large sites who dived straight in with Vault 2018 as well." Based on that it seemed safe to upgrade, but no, after install I find that for the second year running they've made the browser worse than the previous version. Saying that "Bugs will always be something associated...with computer software" just lets Autodesk off the hook This thread was started nearly 2 months ago and isn't fixed yet.
As a minimum Autodesk should have a "Known bugs" listing somewhere obvious on their website, so it can be read before making any upgrade decision. For example, Autodesk continue to claim that Inventor can output 3D PDFs, though that still doesn't work reliably.
