Just to confirm that you are using Inventor 2018?

If so, thank you for bringing this to my attention.

I will be reporting this to the Inventor development staff.

If not, please let me know what version you are utilizing.

Thank you.

@bob_holland Please put a rush on this one if at all possible.. hotfix or whatever you can...

Its driving me nuts not having this functionality working and taking SO much longer to reorder stuff now...

This sucks.. I'm dragging stuff multiple times just to move stuff to stick it into a folder or whatever.. Last drag drop had to be performed 8 times just to get it where I needed it.. ugh!!!

If I could freely drag folders with component patterns,etc.. I could just pull the folder down closer to where I need it then just move the whole folder back but alas that's not possible either.. I'm a sad camper today Smiley Sad

Note to self.. Hey mcgyvr... when you know Autodesk is doing a major overhaul to anything just wait till service pack 1.. you know better..

Using Inventor 2018, Windows 10.

I am having the same issue.

Having to drag multiple times to reorder parts in the browser eats up so much time.

Please fix ASAP.

Thanks!

I started counting...

So far I'm at 56 minutes of extra time because of this in the last 7 days and I haven't been using Inventor more than maybe 15% of my day...

Same issue here, very frustrating.

Please Autodesk, stop messing with the browser- you tried changing the look with 2017 (getting rid of the vertical connecting line) and had to put it back with the first update. Concentrate on fixing 3D pdfs- or implement flattening of doubly curved parts...

Hi! We are actively working on fixing these issues. Most of the fixes are targeting the coming 2018.1 release. Beta users may get a chance to try out the pre-release build when it is ready. If you are interested in Inventor Beta program, please sign up at https://bit.ly/InventorBeta

I am very sorry for the interruption these issues have caused. They are unintended consequence of change in browser and other workflows. There is definitely room for improvement in terms of our process.

Many thanks!

This is a bug not a new feature. They added the really useful search
function and broke the scroll at the same time.
They issued a patch last week but didn't think to fix any of the bugs
people are complaining about except shortcut keys not working.

Hi James,

Yes, these are bugs partially caused by the new enhancement. The bugs should not have existed in the first place. There is no excuse. The first update to 2018 contains the fix to shortcut key issue and other issues, while a few other fixes are still being actively worked on. It is not that we don't want to or did not think to fix them. We are working hard to address the issues. Unfortunately, it takes time. We want to make sure the fixes will not cause more problems.

Many thanks for your patience!

What compensation are you going to offer your users for having to put up
with this shambles? Remember, we pay a lot of money for this and we can't
go back to 2017 or we would have done in a flash.

Hi James,

I fully understand your frustration and I am equally frustrated about the fact that these issues slipped through the crack. Regardless, the damage was done. We need to focus on how to resolve the issues and make sure they don't reoccur in the future.

The team is doing everything it can to resolve the issues in a timely manner. I wish these issues could be resolved overnight and everybody would be happy. Unfortunately, it does not work like that. If possible, I would like to keep the discussion professional and focus on resolving the issues. Any other discussion, sadly, is not my expertise and it would be beyond my ability to do so. Your feedback is always helpful and your criticism only helps us build a better product. I gratefully appreciate it.

Many thanks!

Yeah, I appreciate that. Do you have contact information for someone who can sort this out please.

It's just beyond the joke now and I think Autodesk should be giving something back to the community as an apology for such an awful release.

I've had to completely change the way I use Inventor and when it finally gets fixed I'm going to have to change my behaviour again. It's not acceptable to have to wait this long for fixes to things that worked before.

James.. don't waste your time... Take your lickings and move on..

Just implement better software practices in the future..

Don't install software until you are sure of its stability.. Thats common practice at any company where software is relied upon to perform ones job..

Bugs will always be something associated with the use of computer software.. Nothing is ever going to change that..
