Hi

Please see the attached images.

I tried to insert the Parts list (parts only), But it gives assembly list.

I have restarted the PC, but no improvement.

Hi! This usually means there is already an existing Structured PartsList or a Structured Balloon of the assembly on a different sheet in the same file. Inventor limits one BOM view per assembly per drawing to avoid ballooning confusion.

There is a backdoor way to override it but try it at your own risk.

Start a new idw file. Create a PartOnly PartsList for the assembly. Then copy the entire sheet from the new idw file back to the old idw file.

Many thanks!

Hi Johnson,

Thanks for your prompt response, The back door method works very well.

I gone the all the drawing sheets I couldn't see any part list. Is there other way to find out this hidden parts list ?

Hi

I changed a part no in the part list and then right click to select the 'SAVE ITEM OVER RIDES TO BOM'.

The the BOM haven't updated, after that I restart the inventor. Still not updated ?

Hi! There was a bug in 2020 RTM build that the overrides did not get saved back to the BOM table. You need to edit the the PartsList table and there is a button allowing you to do the same. It should work.

The bug has been fixed by 2020.2 update. Please install it.

Many thanks!

Hi! I am sorry I am a bit confused. You meant you had two different ipts but they shared the same part number. Is it right? You can turn off "Enable same part number row merge" option. Then they should be listed as two rows.

If they are the same ipt file, how can one has the hole but the other one does not have the hole?

Many thanks!
