Bend Note on Bend Part Feature

Hi all,

Why can you not add a bend note to a Bend Part feature?  I use Bend Part because I want a symmetrical bend (actually a roll) to a sketch point and not from an edge.

Please see the attached sample.

it is not like I cannot add the text myself, but it will not be associative to the part and it takes more time.

Thanks, Steven

Looking at your model, you are using the wrong command to put your bend in. Your using the "Bend Part" feature under the Modify section of the 3D Model tab... Instead use the features under the Sheet Metal Tab. If you delete your bend and leave the sketch line geometry. You can use the Fold command  in the Create section of the Sheet Metal Tab. Then you will be able to get the bend note in the idw.

If I was the one to be drawing this part I would use the Contour Flange command instead of the face command. That will allow you to start off with your first sketch being a 36" diameter circle, with the circle trimmed to angle. Then within the contour flange you can specify the 6" width and such.

The fold works great.

I did not include all the details of this part so I am curious of your suggestions for using the contour flange for the attached.  I prefer using the contour flange but in this case it seems to easier.

Thanks so much for the help!!
