Belville Washer

I am trying to set pos reps for an assembly that uses Belville washers. the of each washer geometry changes as it goes through compression.
I've done this through an adaptive sketch with projected geometry, driven by a constraint. All this works fine when manually editing the constraint, but it will not work with driving or over riding the constraint. The projected geometry loses it reference.

Any body have a way to achieve the same result that'll work with pos reps?

It seems to work well if you use work plans as reference (see attachments).
