The message is about Firefox..  Nothing about Inventor..  What are you doing that brings up this message?

Is there any part of your model that's buried deep in folders and have long file names?

Update:  Also are you storing your files under your Windows User Profile?

File path and name is not that big, it stored in local drive.

That could easily be registry corruption or even a virus on your computer totally unrelated to Inventor..

How often do you see that message?

Does it only happen when you first start Inventor?

I have been running into this as well.

It shuts down everything and you have to restart computer.

And you are correct it will change the file it has issues with.

Question is this 2018?

If so when you installed 2018 was there a error when you installed?

Hi Guys,

I have seen it before. It has something to do with the files stored in %temp%. Some files plus their path exceed 256 characters. Please go to %temp% and clean up as many files as possible.

Many thanks!

Hi Milan,

Have you tried cleaning up %temp% folder? Could you launch File Explorer and go do %temp% and clean up the files there?

Many thanks!

Ironically someone wrote a knowledge base article using your image stating its still related to a %temp% folder problem..

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcartic...

Does that error happen when trying to save files?

You haven't posted back into this thread for a few months.. Has this been happening the whole time or did it just start again?

How much space is left on your harddrive?

Have you cleaned out the %TEMP% file ?

That don’t work, I empty every morning and still get this when it pleases.

Found it to happen more if browsing in folders with inventor thumbnails going back and forth.
