Hello everybody,

the screenshot below displays my computer's properties.

I have practicing inventor 2 years but after installing Inventor 2020 (previews had Inventor 2018) it is very lagging and slow so I can't even create a simple part.

Do you know why is it or any advise on how to fix it?

Note that I have not external graphic card but it worked fine on version of Inventor 2018.

Thanks.

From Inventor 2018 to 2020, there should not have been a big performance difference.   My guess is a setting might be different.  Integrated graphics are not awesome for CAD, but if they worked before, I cant think of anything between those releases that would make performance worse.  (Your processor and RAM should be sufficent for small to medium assemblies.)

Some settings can slow things down.  Firstly, in your view tab, set the visual style to shaded and make sure shadows and reflections are off.  Then go to tools--> application options --> hardware tab and set to performance.  Also try tools --> application options --> Display tab and set display quality to rough.  Does that improve things?

If you are spending alot of time with Inventor, I would recommend getting a graphics card.  It doesnt need to be a super expensive one (usually).

I followed your instructions.. my basic problem was that the cursor didn't followed my mouse properly in sketch (lagging). I just found out that in application options -> sketch, there is a checkbox "snap to grid" and once by mistake I activated it. This one was the problem. Thank you.
