Assemble and sub-assembly

Hey all, I have multiple assemblies in one. These all have moving arrangements but when together the become locked. Is there a way to allow these systems to work whilst in the main assembly. All the constraints/collision work in independent assembly's and the ones in the main assembly are simple.

@a.eliah.cameron
Right click on each of the sub-assemblies and select Flexible.

If this doesn’t solve the issue then zip and Attach your assembly here.

(Have you installed all Updates for your version of Inventor?)

Currently away from my computer. But changing it to flexible negates the collision aspect of the assembly. Inventor is up to date

I assume you are using Contact Sets.

Are you familiar with using 2D and 3D Contacts in Dynamic Simulation rather than using Contact Sets?

Yes that is correct I am just using 'contact sets'. No I am unaware of this feature. Is this a more appropriate method of setting limits/collision?

Contact sets are best used between only two components at a time and then replace with Constraint/Joint Limits if appropriate.  For far more realistic motion control use Environments>Dynamic Simulation Joints.  But this area of Inventor is an advanced topic with a steep learning curve.
