Create new parts to represent the "water column" in each tube.. Create a parameter for the "height" (or length) of that water so that you can animate it.. Then go into Inventor Studio mode and set each one of those "water column" parameters as a favorite and then animate those parameters as needed..

How do I create new parts to represent the "water column" in each tube..  Also, how do I create a parameter for the "height" (or length) of that water . I'm new to inventor and animation. I'm also using 2017

Just like creating any other part..

Start a new part file.. Press the fx button to open the parameter dialog. Press the "Add Numeric" and create a new user parameter like "WaterTube1Height" and give it a length of .1" or whatever for now..

Create a new sketch and sketch a circle equal to the ID of the tube.. Finish the sketch and press "extrude" and for the length of the extrusion type in your parameter name or press the right arrow in that section and hit the "list parameters" and pick your named user parameter..

Repeat as needed for each tube..

Then in your assembly constrain each new water column part inside the tubes using an insert constraint.

Once that is all done go to the ENvironments tab and select "Inventor Studio"..

Then in that environment press the "Parameter Favorites" button and select all of your user parameters..

Finish that and go to the "Parameters" button in the animate section and start animating your parameters to make them grow from .1 to whatever length they need to be as needed over whatever time you want..

Try that all first.. You should be able to pick up the rest as you go..

I can do a screencast if you read/try all of that and the light bulb doesn't turn on 😛
