My animation of ic engine seems to work in 3d modelling environment , but it does not work in rendering environment.
To animate the ic engine i placed a angular constraint ( undirected) and used the drive command in constraint to animate it.
the above video the assembly file is in modelling environment.
The above one is in the rendering environment .
The engine doesnt make a full revolution.
Can you share your time line settings for the animation of the angle? Or can you pack and go your assembly for others to review?
Hi! I suspect there is some sort of conflicting constraints or a component flips 180 degree in certain condition. Please share the files here. The forum experts can help take a further look.
Many thanks!
these are the files, i will attach remaining files in next reply
i have placed a angular constraint between the XZ plane of crankshaft and XZ plane of origin of iam file. Then i used the drive command in constraint to animate , but it didnt work well
The above picture shows the timeline.
An IAM file is just a file that links all parts to it, it will not automatically sent the associated files, you must also place in the files.
I just drove the angle constraint from 0 to 10 seconds and 0 degrees to 360*4...
Please see attached simple video
I just changed the angle constraint to either of the other types(directed and explicit) and it works fine.
Hi! I think this has something to do with the angular constraint. To persist the rotational direction, it is better to use the Explicit Refence Vector option. Edit the angular constraint -> click on the 3rd button -> select the shaft as the reference vector. I believe the animation will work better.
Many thanks!
