Adding new holes to machining feature

This has been a problem for a long time but I'm finally getting to the point where I have to stop finding work-arounds and address it.

I've made a sketch on a weldment assembly while in the machining environment that includes a number of points. I then use the hole feature to turn those points into holes in the weldment. Later I discover I need to add more holes to the same face so I add more points to the same sketch, and I edit the machining hole feature to include those new points. It gives me a preview of what I expect it to do, which looks normal, but when I click apply, the new holes are not added.

I basically cannot edit the number of extrusions that occur in a machining feature, I can only adjust the size and location. How can I fix this? Any help would be appreciated.

If new holes are on different parts, you need to include them in the feature.

Please attach a simple Weldment file.

Right-click the hole feature:

As @Frederick_Law says.
