Adding flag notes to a drawing

In the other CAD systems I use, we use the Delta (triangle) symbol to tie things on the drawing field to a note.  We call them flag notes or delta notes.  I need to do that here, but I cannot find the way to do it. Can someone point this out?

Thanks!

One option, make a drawing symbol with an input field.

Mark,

Would you mind providing instructions for this. I'm familiar with drawing symbols but not input fields.

Thanks,

@ToddPig

Simply create a text in your symbol with a prompted entry...

This worked, thanks. But I'm always surprised how often Inventor users indicate that something is simple. In Solidworks, you add text, then double click it, and can add a border, with many different shapes, and spacing options, this would be simple. You can copy-n-paste this text (with border) anywhere on the drawings, from drawing to drawing, etc... I appreciate the help, but always wonder how much somebody like your self, that is so experienced with Inventor, would love Solidworks.

I can't figure out how to get the flag note into my drawing notes. SolidWorks is so extremely simple. Inventor is so extremely frustrating. Wish we had SolidWorks instead of Inventor.

Here's a tip... count the number of mouse clicks it takes you to add a flag note in Solidworks, then multiply this by 3. This is how many mouse clicks it will take you to do the same thing in Inventor (and it won't look as good either) Now, imagine how many pop-up windows and dialogue boxes you would need for those extra clicks. Once you understand this part, now commit 15/30 minutes to reading the forum and testing this out, and you'll get it.

(Hopefully you have access to edit your drawing templates)

Is there any way to actually get the note into the drawing notes? Currently I create the custom note and then just eyeball it next to the notes. If the notes get moved the symbol has to also be moved. Seriously I can't be the only one that finds this absolutely idiotic. Come on Inventor, progress into this Century. We have stuff on Mars!

Hello. How do you actually eyeball you custom text next to the notes in Inventor?

Fusion is becoming too expensive to still be ignoring basic engineering functionality like flag notes and GD&T (proper)
