Dear all,

Hi! This is doable but not as intuitive as it should be. Inventor PartsLists are built on top of assembly BOM table, which is about the list of all components within the hosting assembly, less about the hosting assembly itself. As a result, there aren't workflows adding the total mass from the hosting assembly's perspective.

You can simply insert Assembly1 to yet another assembly. Then the PartsList based on the new assembly will contain the total mass of Assembly1.

I believe iLogic will work too. You should never override the values like that unless it is absolutely necessary.

Many thanks!

Hi! We have plenty of iLogic experts on the forum. For this case, you can also do it via creating a table like sketch symbol. Please take a look at attached file. It does not require iLogic in this case.

Many thanks!

Hi! To show Assembly2 in the sketch symbol, you will need to move the assembly2 view and its partslist to a different sheet. The sketch symbol assumes only one model source per sheet (the model of the very first view on the sheet).

Many thanks!

Hi Ravi,

In your case, you do need some customization. The example I showed relies on the view source model on the sheet.

Many thanks!
