Adding a fixed model reference to a drawing template

Hi all,

I'm trying to add a view from a "fixed model" to our standard drawing template. By "fixed" I mean that it's always the same models that are referenced.

Background:

On all some of our drawings, we always add a page showing some standard components, and it's tedious to add them every time. So it would be nice to add these components directly to the drawing template, so that it always reflects the current design.

If I just add the model views to a page in the template, they "disappear" when you open the template through inventor, and a prompt will ask for a model reference.

Is there a way to add these models to the template, so inventor will always use the same model reference(s) and not prompt for it?

I thought about creating a template with two sheets, and on the second one in a sketch (or a new drawing frame applied just to that sheet) you would have the raster graphic inserted for the whole page.

You mentioned that you want the same set of drawings everywhere.

The drawing frame is a static element. This works similarly to adding a logo.

I have a template with, let's say, 6 sheets.

The first 4 pages are for drawings of models for the current project that I'm working on (let's say a it's a drawing of a house). 

The last 2 sheets should always show the latest edition of some standard components for the house (it could be a page with the details of the current standard window design, and a page the details of the current standard door design)

So when I make a set of drawings for a new house, the first six pages are for showing/describing the new house, but the last two pages show what he windows and doors look like in generic detail. This way I can focus on making drawings on the house - the description of the windows and doors are already described on the last two pages, so to speak

If they are the same graphics - you can do this.

Hi! I don't believe there is a workflow here, if you are hoping to have a preexisting view in the template. When starting a new file from the template, all views will be deleted.
