3Dconnexion problems Pt2

Hi All,

Problem number 2 since installing the new 3DConnexion software update (10.4.4). No matter how many times I calibrate my Space navigator it never stays in a still position when not touched and is constantly on the move! Really annoying as this never happened on the previous software. I also recently updated to Windows 10 so I'm wondering if this has something to do with it.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help.

Rob

If you leave anything laying against the puck for a long period of time - it takes a while to return to a steady state.

Hi,

Nope, haven't left anything resting against it to have that effect. This is strange, I never had this issue before I upgraded. It's no just a slight movement, it completely moves my model off screen within a few seconds!

Thanks.

Rob

I remember something about holding down both buttons on the navigator while plugging it into the USB port, not sure if that would do anything for the calibration though.
I would sometimes have to do that if it wouldn't activate...

Hi,

thanks for your reply. I've tried what you suggested but I can't see any improvement afterwards. This is bugging me now as I heavy used the space navigator with no issues beforeSmiley Sad

Then i don't know either, have you tried going back to an older driver? or reinstalling the newest one?
Maybe resetting the profile?
(%APPDATA%\3dconnexion\3dxware\cfg holds xml files with settings, rename them to .bak or something and see if they get recreated... though it seems to me they're used for button config only)

Other than that, maybe try contacting 3DConnexion or posting on their forum.
Hope you can get it sorted.

Hi All,

Well, after all that messing around it all came down to a faulty Space Navigator! I took it to work with me and tried it on Creo and I got the same behavior, and the one I used at work is absolutely fine with Inventor!.

Sorry for all the fuss over this but it's been resolved!

Thanks for all your help.

Regards,

Rob

We had the same issue here and turned out to be a faulty Spacemouse Wireless. Tried the two button reset too.

Chris.
