Hi everybody,

Does anyone use a Logitech 3dconnexion cadmouse when working from home combined with remote desktop?

Does it work? Currently I'm using teamviewer and what I know so far is that the cadmouse doens't work with teamviewer

Thanks

There are two ways I've heard of doing it, one is with paid 3rd party software which I haven't tried. The second being if you have windows 10 pro on both the local and remote computer you can do it with windows remote desktop. I have used this method and it works well. Instructions are available on the 3dconnexion forum linked below. The autodesk thread link has other info also.

Otherwise, you need a USB PASSTHRU software app.

Most of them use a virtual network.

They are expensive!

I think I'll just stick with the "Shift" and middle mouse button. it's not that I would get a big advantage using a 3D spacemouse.

Thanks for the replies anyways

Sorry for bringing up an old thread, but hopefully this helps someone. I ran into the same issue recently. I'm currently using an app called Flexihub. It's not free, but it lets you share USB devices over the network, and the 3D mouse works pretty well with it. There's a setup guide available here https://www.flexihub.com/usb-in-remote-desktop/3d-mouse-remote-desktop/
As for Teamviewer, I haven't tried it myself but from what I’ve read, it handles standard input devices like keyboards and regular mice just fine. However, 3D mice might depend on specific drivers or communication protocols that don’t always work over remote sessions.
