Hi!

Try stop/start the 3D connexion driver.

You will find the start stop driver buttons in the windows menus. Click windows button and search in the 3d connexion pane.

I tried that, tried restarting my PC. And it's only the 2 side buttons that
quit working in inventor. It still zooms and rotates. Now the side buttons
work in ACAD and with all other software.

Typically you have to restart the driver and also restart any programs where you're seeing the problem (in this case, Inventor).

However, if you already restarted the whole computer, that should have had the same effect.

Well... you can search for driver updates.

If you are working with the most recent update version, roll back to the previous version until they fix it.

They launch updates often, so keep looking for new updates monthly.

They bring sometimes new good options in the updates.

Have you checked the 3D Connexion settings, to see if it simply lost the settings assigning commands to the buttons in Inventor?

It's possible the buttons are "working", but are no longer assigned to actually do anything.

Hi! There is remote possibility that the driver needs to be updated. Could you check and see if you are using the latest driver?

Many thanks!

I've had an issue similar to this with my 3D Connexion devices. The simplest solution I could share is to update drivers and change the port your wireless dongle is plugged into. This will force the PC to refresh the driver to that port. Typically the usb root driver is the culprit.

Hello @Anonymous,

How about reboot windows system?

Or check if the battary is enough for the 3d connexion mouse?

This is a side note to this thread: I have been using the 3D Connexion Space Mouse with Inventor for about 2 years now and after using a standard mouse and the orbit command for the previous 20 years I have never looked back. I love it, it's like holding the model in one hand and exectuting commands with the other.

I am so converted now I feel so awkward whenever I have to use as standard mouse with Inventor to the point I feel like I'm learning to walk all over again.
