3D Annotation for Point Identification

1) Does Inventor have the 3D annotation capability to display point coordinates, without copying and pasting the information from the measurement tool into a regular 3D note with leader?

2) Is there any way to have Inventor continue to display measurements after you have made them?

Thanks,

Gary H.

1 & 2.. Nope

As far as #2 the only thing that "might" be helpful depending on what you might be trying to do is the "Add to Accumulated" functionality..

Question 2:

I use 3D dimensions instead of the measure tool if I want keep a measurement on screen as I am designing a component.

You can try to play with the 3D annotation text, linking it to a certain set of parameters or custom iProperties you have. For example, using a simple UCS:

Hi! The only out-of-box solution is like what Gabriel shows here using UCS. Or, you can add dimensional constraints between the point and the origin. Then use the dimensions to drive the point.

Another solution will be using iLogic. You can write a rule to get the coordinates of a selected point and then populate it to a user parameter.

Many thanks!
