16GB or 32GB laptop for AUTOCAD INVENTOR 2018??

 Hello,

I am a Student at Fachhochschule Aachen,Aachen,Germany studying Mechanical Engineering. I want to download free student version of AUTOCAD INVENTOR 2018 (German Version) for 3 years. I am planing to buy a WINDOWS Laptop but my problem is that I can't not decide whether I should buy 16GB RAM  Laptop or 32GB for Inventor 2018.

Can you tell me should I buy 32 GB or 16GB computer?

Hello, good morning,

Well, it all depends on the type of projects you're working on. But with 16GB of memory is more than enough! I was working with 8GB for a long time with Inventor 2016 and I had no problem.

Instead of looking for 32 gb, buy a good SSD or M. 2 disk and if possible, a graphics card with 4GB of memory (Quadro or GTX).
This will be more than enough for large projects.

If given the choice I would go 16GB and use the money saved to get one with a faster processor(CPU)..

32Gb could be useful with VERY large assemblies (and desktop computers/workstations) but most laptops will show performance problems from other hardware,etc.. long before getting to the 32gb usage..
