Customization XML Files

Seems like a basic question, but i cant wrap my head around it. We just upgraded from 2015 PDSP to 2016 PDSP. We would like to transfer the "customization" files but cant figure out how many or where they are. By customization files, i mean specifically Command Alias's (alii?), Marking menus, as well as application options. Are these all the same xml file of are there multiple? Which goes with which? Again, probably a basic question, but then again, not much is basic this early on a Monday morning...

Thank you in advance for guidance!!

You can export your application and customization options via their respective dialogs. I would be careful copying options between different versions of Inventor though. I've broken a few things before copying application options, don't recall any issues with customizations options though.

Also to specifically answer your question. I don't believe Inventor actually saves these settings as xmls except when exporting them.

I'll paste this line from the application options xml file also.
" <!--The schema of this file is subject to change without notice and is not guaranteed to remain the same from one release to the next.-->"

As far as I am aware and care to investigate there are only two settings that can be exported (or that I care off). The Application Options and the Customizations.

Application Options is clear I guess but the Customizations takes care of the menus, shortcuts, position, location and most importantlly for me keyboard shortcuts. I have mine set to multi-character like in AutoCAD and have even changed some to match AutoCAD. My hand doesn't know the difference between Inventor or AutoCAD.

Tools \ Application Options

and

Tools \ Customization

they both have export/import at the bottom. I keep separate files for each inventor version and export them everitime I change something and I want it persistent.
