(I'll apologize right now if this is posted in the wrong forum)
I have Maya 2014 still on my computer. Obviously, I can no longer use it for it was an older version I used from school (I.E, student license long since expired). I am seriously considering a possibly subscription plan, however I want to double check about uninstalling.
How do I get rid of this older version of Maya? Do I just delete all the files, or would that effect any future versions if I got a subscription? (I currently use a MacBook Pro running on EL Capitan)
Also, a side question: if I were to try and open a file that I was working on in the 2014 Maya in a newer version would there be any issues?

Uninstall your software as normal. Information that you created from your educational license can be opened in newer versions. However you can't take information that was created in a student license of the product and use it with your commercial license. That information has to be all recreated in the commercial license.
