Authentication failure

I am new to AutoCAD and was able to purchase an affordable copy of AutoCAD 2015 for Mac for my library from Tech Soup. However, when I attempt to activate it at the Autodesk login screen, I receive a "HPDIA0200W Authentication failed. You have used an invalid user name, password, or client certificate" message. My user name and password are correct, so I'm quite confused about what is causing this error. I started a support case over a week ago, but received no response.

I also purchased Entertainment Creation Suite 2016 for Windows and am receiving the same message. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Maxim,

We are not using a network license, and unfortunately, the other links on the forums for standalone licensing do not offer a solution.

I also tried requesting an activation code, but received that same error.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Janet

Hi Janet,

If you are sure you selected Standalone licence type during AutoCAD installation, than probably it is temporary issue with Autodesk activation server?
Have you tried to use your email address instead your user name when you log to activation center?

Thank you so much. I had been using my email address to log in to the activation center as I do for the forums and was receiving the error message. I tried with only prefix and the activation was complete. You are a lifesaver!

HPDIA0200W Authentication failed.

I receive the same error, trying to activate Autodesk Inventor Professional.

I also have downloaded educational AutoCAD 2017, I don't know what to do if they are conflicting. I don't see how my password could have anything to do with the failed authentication. I know my password is correct as well as username, and have also typed in full e mail just to be sure.

I've changed my password and tried requesting a key as the person stated above yet ran into the exact same issue. vicious circle. please explain in lamens terms I'm a little rusty and new to this operating system.
