Ubuntu and licensing

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi folks. I am running a student license of Maya. I am switching my work station over from Windows to Linux, preferably Ubuntu. I will have my old windows partition still running but will uninstall Maya from the Windows partition. Do I have to do anything special, license transfer or the like, to get it to be activated in my new Linux environment?

Thanks.

Which means students are not entitled to a network license.   Perhaps you will want to stick with what you currently have.

Thanks for the responses. As a company Autodesk can of course do as they like and I'm very appreciative of the educational liscensing offered but I am curious on the discontinuation of the Linux educational license from 2017. Was it just a technical change or just a choice to stop offering a Linux educational option? Just curious, thanks.

Hello @Anonymous,

Thank you for coming back to let us know, but please be aware that the system requirements take priority. The system requirements were created by a team within Autodesk that has tested single-user licenses on a Linux OS & determined that only network license will function properly. I apologize for the confusion.
