Maya 2020 Deployment

The Maya 2020 installer doesn't give the option to create a deployment like previous versions of Maya. Is there another way to deploy a Maya 2020 installation to multiple workstations on a network?

Autodesk hasn’t really released this function yet

they made announcements at AU 2019 in vegas on how this is changing but has not been released yet

maya & maya lt 2020 products are the 1st to have this new installer

I took a look at those instructions.  Unfortunately, the latest installer for 2020 applications does not have the "create deployment" option.

Any other ideas?

Did they say if this is going to apply to other Autodesk products?

If so, this is a disaster...

Any reason behind this?

Removing a key deployment methods with no replacement is madness.

@DarrenP Inventor mostly, I'm going on more now that it's at working and more stable stage.

I mostly use the frame online to test since I don't have a VM to test locally, since I need my PC to not have security issues etc.

Just took a look at the new Maya 2020 installation, and the only thing that have changed is the new "setup control" program. The "base" installation (MSI packages) is still the same as in 2019.

So generally you can install via SCCM and/or silent as in the past.

Yes, with the deployment option it is more comfortable, but not essential.

Installing is not really the problem for us. The main issue is that the deployment tool allowed us to include the license settings in the package. Unless I'm missing something, with this version of Maya, that can't be added until after the install is done.

In the past everything you entered in the "deployment dialogs" is passed to the MSI packages with transforms for the msi, but it is also possible to use the public properties.

What license settings have you included ? The settings for network license ? This is still possible.

Let me know what you need, then I try to give you a sample.

regards

Markus
