How to change the install pathway after a previous install?

Hello,

I have been using AutoCAD for a while now and recently decided to upgrade my computer a little by getting a SSDrive.

To be fair, I thought it would be fairly simple to deinstall the software and reinstall on the new drive, but sadly no.

My current problem is the following:

- I have removed everything which I can deinstall through the controll panel.

- I have removed all files from Program Files

- I have removed all files from Program Files(86)

- I have removed all files from ProgramData

- I have removed all files from C:\User

However the installation tool keeps giving me the following warning:

An AutoCAD 2018-based product has been previously installed. Please note that all sebsequent AutoCAD 2018 products will be installed to: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2018\

My question:

Is there any way I can remove this fixed pathway and change it to the new drive?

Thank you in advance,

Efraim Steurbaut

Hi,

from what I see you missed the registry as well as licensing content.

Please find here the steps for a clean uninstall >>>click<<<

Completely uninstall ACAD using MSFixit and ADSK removal tools which should remove all links, worst comes you could clone your drive....

Thank you. That managed to get it going.

However, now it tends to give me an error along the lines of:

Couldn't install AutoCAD 2018. To install, you must have AutoCAD 2018 installed.

Any ideas on how to fix that?

Hi,

>> have AutoCAD 2018 installed.

That sounds like you try to install a service pack for AutoCAD 2018, not the product itself.
