License pool and Fusion 360

I have been informed by our IT-support that we have a pool of Product Design & Manufacturing Collection Licenses, with several seats that gets allocated dynamically when a user starts one application.

For us this gives a license:user ratio of maybe 1:10.

But to enable Fusion 360 for a person, the Contract Manager have to assign access. But this seems to remove a seat from the allocatable pool and lock it to me only:

Grant accessGrant access

Is that so, or have I misunderstood something?

If so then that would make the cost of enabling Fusion extreamly high in our network license scenario.

For example if a dynamically allocatable network license cost $3000/seat. With a 1:10 user ratio thats like $2700 per activated Fusion???

Please can someone clarify?

Fusion 306 is just cloud service and you get a subscription to Fusion 360 for each license of Product Design & MFG Collection.  Since you have a multi-user type of subscription license, the contract manager or software coordinator has to assign that benefit to a given user so they can have access to it.  It has no impact on your network license quantity or the license information.   It just means that user can sign into Fusion 360 and use it.

Or am I missing something?

@Mark.Lancaster, are you really sure?

I was hoping it would be like what you describe. But our Contract Manager expressed concern that it would consume and lock a license seat to only me, and that would be very expensive.

So basically this is what I really wanted to verify.

What I have provided is how it works.  It doesn't lock a network license to you.  Fusion 360 access is separate from your network license.

Thank you @Mark.Lancaster

I will forward this information to our Contract Manager, so I finally can get proper Fusion 360 access.
