Error 20 the licensing error

Hello!

I've been trying the last 3 days to get maya 2015 and/or 2016 to work on my macbook air, this error comes up:

License was not obtained

Tried Maya 2015 (657G1 2015.0.0.F), error 20

License method:

environment variable MAYA_LICENSE_METHOD='standalone'

Product choice:

environment variable MAYA_LICENSE='unlimited'

License file override:

environment variable MAYA_ALT_EN is not set

And now I have been looking through every piece of information there is to find, and nothing yet has helped me.

Anyone help?

Edit: also I have tried it on the 10.8 os before and this happened to, I now have yoshimite (10.10.5)

Not one of those links works and I don't even know what smoke is or what it has to do with "MAYA" and I do not have an application called smoke on my mac either. And what additional details do you need? I don't really have anything left to say other than: My maya doesn't work because of error 20

Welcome to the community!

Sorry to hear about the issue. Have you tried installing the latest service pack for Maya 2015 or the service pack for Maya 2016. Also try the workarounds suggested in the pervious posts:

The first workaround to this issue is to set the language of your Mac OS X system to English.

Perform the following tasks to set the language to English:

1. Open System Preferences.
2. Click Language & Text.
3. Drag English to the top of the language list.
4. Restart your Mac.

If the error still persists, try the following procedure:

1. Open the Terminal app from the Applications > Utilities folder.
2. Type the following command:
   sudo mv /Library/Preferences/FLEXnet\ Publisher/FLEXnet/adskflex_* /var/tmp
3. Enter your password when prompted.
4. Restart Program.
5. The application will go through the activation process again and should recognize the existing license and use it.
6. If you are still getting error 20, reopen the Terminal and type:
   sudo mv /Library/Application\ Support/Autodesk/ADLM /Library/Application\ Support/Autodesk/ADLM.old
7. Uninstall and reinstall.

exactly the same solution as in the first link... which still doesn't work because i do not have smoke on my computer.

Those directions are not Smoke specific. Did you try the service packs that were linked above?

SOLUCION 2 : Cuando los programas de Autodesk no abren o cuando abren y se cierran en segundos,Error falló 20 Licencia
Haga clic en Inicio y escriba "services.msc"
En servicios busque el servicio de licencias Flexnet y haga doble clic en él
Cambie el tipo de inicio para este servicio de manual a automático , o
Click derecho , propiedades, tipo de inicio , cambiar a automatico, aplicar , aceptar
Reiniciar equipo

I'm having this exact same problem.

I've tried all the suggested solutions here and the problem still exists.

the help for unistalling maya says to use the adlmreg command to clean up previous installations.  however when i try to run admlreg from the terminal i get a "command not found" error.

When i try this:

sudo mv /Library/Application\ Support/Autodesk/ADLM /Library/Application\ Support/Autodesk/ADLM.old

it changes from error 20 to error 41.
