I've been attempting to install Autocad 2018 on my school network. I'm facing this error when trying to run the program as it seems it can't access the network location of "\Autodesk\AutoCad 2018\R22.0"
I had issues with installs of Inventor a few years ago and it was to do with the way our system handles local profiles. This also means that I can only install the software pre-domain join as once it's on the domain, it seems it's looking for profile folders that don't exist. I've created a deployment and tried to remove any file paths associated with local profiles and changed them to the install folder but once the software's installed and run as a user, I get the error above, as if it can't find a location.
This is a windows 7 network with basic group policies and roaming user profiles, nothing out of the ordinary. I was unable to get Inventor working a few years ago because of the same issue, that was even with intervention from someone from Autodesk support.
Is anyone able to shed any light as to how I can get round this and get the software to run on a network?! I really am unwilling to change network security to accommodate changes for one piece of software which *should* work as it may compromise our network security.
The issue is with running - the install is fine as it's local admin and that's the only part that flippin works!
Frustrated muchly.......
