AutoCAD 2019 Won't Start

Hello everyone,

Yesterday I installed AutoCAD 2019 under my student license, double-clicked on the icon, the welcome screen appeared and just when you would expect the UI to load, the welcome screen disappeared and that's it. Nothing more.

Things I tried without success.

  • Restarting my machine
  • Updating Windows - Currently running Windows 10, version 1709.
  • Updating my Nvidia drivers. Ps, I am running a GTX1060 & a GTX 1080.
  • Plugging the HDMI cable into the 1080
  • Plugging it into the 1060
  • Repairing AutoCAD 2019
  • Reinstalling AutoCAD 2019
  • Uninstalling AutoCAD 2019 and installing it again.
  • Uninstalling it and installing it from the Autodesk Desktop App.
  • Updating AutoCAD 2019 - Apparently, there was one in the Autodesk Desktop App.
  • Running it as administrator
  • Running it in lower version of Windows

I just installed Revit 2019 and it worked like a charm.

If it helps to troubleshoot, I still have the 2018 versions of the two softwares installed as well.

Thank you in advance.

Daniel

Hello @Anonymous,

Sorry to hear this is happening.

You can try another method called a Browser Download, if the other methods have not worked for you.

I have listed some steps to prepare your system for download and installation in case you run into a problem.

  1. Conduct a Clean Uninstall of the previous installation & use the MSfixitTool to complete it
  2. Reboot the computer, make sure apps are not auto running in the background
  3. Log in as Administrator (check your permissions, full control) or create a new profile
  4. Make sure you have an uninterrupted & high-speed connection to the internet
  5. Clean out the TEMP folder. To open the TEMP folder, type %TEMP% in the address bar of Windows Start Menu and hit Enter (Windows)
  6. Temporarily disable security settings like Antivirus, Firewall & UAC on your Windows operating system
  7. Use the Browser Download Method in your Autodesk Account or via the AVA | Autodesk Virtual Agent (download all the parts)

If the above does not resolve it, try to re-create the event/pull up the error again & locate the event error looking at the date & time, using Event Viewer. Let us know what you find.

Me too... except it is only when my computer is not connected to my home office network. It does not start when I am  tethering  with my phone or on my clients networks. That has got to be simple...

Your reply is a little confusion and I can't figure out when AutoCAD 2019 works and doesn't work for you.   Can you clarify?

Autocad 2019 will start only on my office network.when I use my phone for
internet connection using tethering or my client's network (using an
ethernet cable) to connect to the internet it will NOT start. It simply goes
through a couple of screens and slows down the entire computer as if
something gets the CPU very busy.
