I recently purchased AutoCAD LT 2017 for one of our employees. I’ve successfully installed it, but I can’t get it to run. It tells me I have to “Sign in as a different user” and then shuts down. What am I doing wrong?

You have a term based license and authorization is done through a specified Autodesk ID. At this point the application is not assigned to that given Autodesk ID/named account. Which means the contract manger for your subscription needs to log into their account, un-assign the product from their account and then assign it to your Autodesk ID. Are you the contract manager for your subscription or is someone else assigned that role?

Thanks, Mark. Turns out Autodesk had not added my purchase of AutoCAD to my account. I figured out that my user had to be a registered user with Autodesk, and then assign the license to him. Apparently stand-alone licenses aren't really stand-alone after all. It also appears to mean "subscription" which I suppose cannot be avoided these days. sigh.
