Unable to reinstall Inventor 2025 – Stuck on "Preparing..." and "Unable to install"

Hello, I'm having an issue when trying to reinstall Inventor 2025.

I have both the "webinstall" version and the so-called "local" version. Both versions were downloaded from the official Autodesk source.

When I install using webinstall :

  • This window appears, and the installation does not proceed.

And when I try with the local version :

  • It displays the "Preparing for installation..." window until about 3/4 of the progress bar is completed (as shown in the image) :

INFO : I fixed the display of this window by adding the key "AdskAccessServiceHost.exe" under the key "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options" in the registry.

  • Then this window closes.
  • A new "Preparing..." window appears, stays for about 2 seconds, and then closes as well.

I searched everywhere online for a solution :

At this point, I really don't know what to do anymore. I don't want to have to reset my entire computer just to reinstall Inventor. And this is not only for Inventor, this is for all Autodesk Products. For the uninstallation of my previous version of Inventor, I couldn't uninstall it properly because this issue caused the uninstaller to hang on "Preparing..." and close, preventing me from completing the process. I had to use "Revo Uninstaller" to remove it, but I think it might have made some incorrect changes in the registry.

Could you please help me ?

Thank you very much, and sorry for the long message.

What if you unpack the .7z file (7Zip) and run the installer in the unpacked folder?
