Telephone call from Autodesk because of trial?

Just curious, is it normal for Autodesk to call directly instead of going through our reseller?

I got a call at work from an UK based number (i'm in the Netherlands) and the person asked specifically for me.

Wanted to know if i needed any assistance with the license / trial... for 3DS Max...

Conversation went rather difficult, bad sound quality and some misunderstanding...

Didn't appear to know what the Expert Elite program was either...

The call left me a bit dazzled as it didn't make much sense to me.

Hello @-niels-

Autodesk has a team called Customer Loyalty, they conduct these types of calls to make sure customers are receiving the support they need, to recommend products & to take feedback on ways Autodesk can improve its services to customers.

In regards to the phone number, we do have offices in the UK.

Hi @natasha.l,

Thanks for the reply, i'll just check this off as a poor support call then.

Didn't even catch the fellow's name, so can't supply feedback on that, but the overall call was of poor quality.

Poor sound, though the telephone line isn't Autodesk's fault it didn't help in hearing what he was saying/asking.

Poor explanation, wasn't sure what he was calling about and why other then that it was about 3DS Max.

Poor knowledge, as he didn't even know what the EE program was and i got confused as the only 3DS Max 2019 license i set up for trial is the one i'm using at home on my EE license (which i haven't actived yet) but he called me at work...

So yeah... good intentions, poor execution. Smiley Frustrated

Hello @-niels-

Sorry to hear that, maybe it was a newer agent... Thank you for the feedback.

I do have to say..  Awhile back someone at Autodesk private message me because they thought Expert Elite meant I was an Autodesk Employee with a high level of expertise and they wanted me to answer questions about an internal thing at Autodesk.   So not everyone at Autodesk knows what the Expert Elite program is all about..   Perhaps the person who contacted me was also new (to Autodesk)...

Lol, you'd expect that kind of confusion here on the forum between users... seems Autodesk personnel aren't exempt though. Smiley LOL

Ah well... it's a big company, let's just give them that...

Makes you wonder how much knowledge and information gets lost in the cracks internally.
