Revit 2020 installation error 1603

I keep getting an error 1603 when trying to install Revit. I have uninstalled all old versions of Microsoft Visual C++ from 2010 onwards (as per some other suggestions) but am still getting the error message.

I've attached the log file. Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks

hi@PinuSanto,

Thanks for your feedback.

Recently we are seeing the 1603 error due to licensing issue.

Please upgrade your Autodesk Licensing service as indicated here: https://synergiscadblog.com/2019/07/24/autodesk-licensing-mechanism/ then install your 2020 product line.

Please let me know if it works.

Regards,

Srinivas

Dear Srinivas,
I tried with your link but it didn't work because I have uninstalled Revit 2020 two days ago because of the license. I'm trying to reinstall the software now but it fails because of the error 1603.
I tried to delete the .mst file that doesn't allow the installation but I can't find it on my computer.
I don't know what to do.
Again, please help me.

You don't need to have Revit installed, just install the update for licensing and then try to reinstall Revit.

That version of the licensing mechanism is not the latest.  A new version was just released late yesterday and should be used instead.  It can be found in your Autodesk Account or Desktop App.  The only issue its readme link takes you back to the article @Anonymous supplied.  @mdavis22569 has already posted about this.

The only thing that worked for me was reinstalling windows.... I was also working on a project for studio and have done 80% of the model on revit 2020 so I just couldn't go back and I tried all rhe suggestions besides the license update because they didn't tell me about that when I was having the problem a while back and needed to be fixed. But hopefully that works. I had to reset my computer and reinstall windows which was a pain because it took several hours but it was a lot faster than sitting there and trying different things over and over again.

Hi@PinuSanto,

As all the members mentioned, just update the licensing update and then try to install the product.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Srinivas.

Thanks a lot to all who answered! 🙂

Welcome to the Autodesk User's Community..

Tried what?   Updating the licensing mechanism for 2020?   Log is still showing its failing due to that..

What version do you have?   https://synergiscadblog.com/2019/07/24/autodesk-licensing-mechanism/

Your issue is the licensing mechanism..  Upgrade and then do the installation.

https://synergiscadblog.com/2019/07/24/autodesk-licensing-mechanism/

Also log shows you're using the install now method.  Don't...

Use method #2 here: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/getting-started/caas/simplecontent/content/perferred-...

"arquivo de registro de instalacao" - can you click on this link and save a copy of the installation log file, then post it here?  It could be helpful in diagnosing your problem.
