Revit 2016 Setup Initialization Error

Hi,

I have been trying to install the Revit 2016 free trial for a while now, and every time I get this error message as soon as the setup initialization box pops up. Any ideas on how to fix it or what causes this?  I have tried the download now and download manager methods.  See attached image.

Thanks

Go to the Autodesk Virtual Agent and follow the download links to your product.  Download all of the parts first (some applications may only have a single part to download) and then go to your download location.  Extract (double click) part 1 (or the single part download) and in a few seconds the extraction will start.   It will then prompt you to extract to C:\Autodesk and once the extraction is finished the installation will start.  Also make sure you have admin rights, UAC is turned off and Anti-Virus temporary disabled prior to installation.

Mark,

I did exactly as you said, and ended up with the same error.  I was able to get it installed on my dad's desktop first try with just the download now button.  Both computers have similar specs, and I need to have the software on my laptop for work.  So i'm not sure what the issue is.  Maybe something to do with akamai netsession?  I've tried everything I could possibly think of.

Close out all applications and make sure you have all the latest crucial Windows updates for your machine.  Clean out your entire temp folder  (C:\Users\<username>\Appdata\local\temp) as much as possible.  Reboot your machine, turn off UAC, Anti-virus and make sure you have Admin rights to your machine.  Next re-download using the Autodesk VIrtual Agent method as I posted before and extract/install.  Report back.

I cleaned out my temp folder, restarted, UAC, Antivirus, Firewall are off, and I have admin rights to my machine.  Still same results.  Anything else I can try?  I'm having a hard time figuring out how it worked so well on home desktop, when my laptop is set up just about the same.  Thank you.
