NLM-client not using BDSP, only AEC.

Hello

I need some help with this strange situation.

One of my costumers klients is not able to obtain license from the server.

The costumers license file contain 1 seat AEC collection and 3 Seats BDSP.

When starting Revit or Autocad 2018 on the client (Eva@SHARK114)  we get the error (-15.570.0) 

The status inquiry in LMtools is showing that the 1 AEC is OUT, but all 3 BDSP is available.

I can see from the flexnet logfile that the loan is only trying to access the AEC license:

There is no system variables on the clients.

The license file is generated for the 2019 versjon.

Flexnet is updated to 11.14

I have never had this issue before. Could it be a bug?

What is seperating the two clients? Why does it not "see" the available BDSP?

Is it the Vendor deamon or the checkout request itself that is asking for the wrong license?

If the AEC license is available the client will use this, but because of cascading it never is.....

Looking at the logs I see what you're saying..  However I noticed you still have the 2014 version for your building designs suite and I'm wondering if your license file is not properly formatted.  However don't share it here since it contains sensitive info.  If you want to talk about sharing it, please private message me and we can take this topic off-line.

Update:  However I will also tag @TravisNave for his input.  Travis, user is launch AutoCAD 2018 and it tries to pull from their collection license (which it should, term or perpetual) but collection license is already in use but it never tries to pull from the suite license and they have no option file.

I think its strange that the other clients pull form the BDSP just fine. Almost like its "invisible" for the one client.

But let's do this..

On the user's machine that is unable to obtain a license or use the suite perpetual, go to this folder C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\AdLM and move the CascadeInfo.cas to another location.

In addition if not already apply this hotfix https://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Autodesk-License-Service...

Try launching the product again and see if the user is able to obtain a license.

I connected to the costumer and all the licenses was available. So i asked someone to start Revit to pull the AEC license, so the scenario for testing this client was right.

I was shocked when the other client takes the BDSP! Does not make sense, the AEC was available. So i was not able to test any further...

Hello @thomas_aardal, 

Which user/s are assigned the AEC license, how many seats do you have? Please check the assigned user/s, this behavior is as designed if the user assigned is pulling the AEC collection license first over the BDSP license. The Industry Collections like AEC do not function like suites especially when it comes to licensing.

Account Administrator Manages Your Software (Named Users)

If your company has a Primary Admin who purchases software and manages its access, work with that administrator to set up your software. You can download, install, and activate your subscription software from your Autodesk Account after the administrator adds you as a Named User and assigns permissions to access software and services.

If you don't already have an Autodesk Account, your Account Administrator can create one for you when software permissions are assigned. You'll receive an email message that your permissions have changed.
