After installing a work menu in the autocad 9 we now dont have the standard dimensionng tool bar or the layer tool bar how do we get those back?

"9" or "2009", it's different ... 😉

And assuming 2009 where do you have that working menu from? And whoever created that menu, did he/she had a dimension toolbar?

When you start command _-TOOLBAR ==> Dimension ==> Show ... do you then see the toolbar?

If not you either have to ask the one who created that menu or you have to use CUI to add partial menus and so add the dimenion toolbar from a partial menu or you modify your "work" menu.

Be careful, there are different commands and using the wrong one can completely make AutoCAD close to unusable.

If you use _MENU instead of _MENULOAD or _CUILOAD you close your "main menu" and replace it by your own one

The result can be that all the standard AutoCAD menus are gone.

Using _MENULOAD (or _CUILOAD) gives you the option to add additional menus to the default menu (instead of replacing the default menu) and that should be the prefered method to add some customized ribbons, toolbars, ...
