Maya 2017 not loading on Windows 10

Please can you help?

I have tried endlessly to get Maya 2017 working on Windows 2010 without any joy.  The application installs perfectly fine, in addition to Arnold.  However when loading the app the icon appears for a few seconds and disappears.  I don't even get the output window.

I have tried running the app with a variety of compatibility mode versions of windows in 'properties' -> compatibility.  However I have not had any joy.

I have also read forums that Maya 2017 is not even compatible with windows 10???

Please can someone advise on how I can get it working?
