Inventor 2017.4 fails to install

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello All,

I'm running out of idea as to why the Inventor 2017.4 update keeps failing. I have tried installing it through the Autodesk App, through Browser download, uninstalling and reinstalling Inventor, updating all other Autodesk software first, but nothing.

I've attached the update logs to see if anyone can take a stab at it. Any ideas?

Welcome to Autodesk Community

In Windows Control Panel/Program and Features

Uninstalling the following programs

Autodesk Desktop Connect Service

Autodesk Guide Tutorial plugin

If they will not uninstall, use Microsoft Fixit https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/windows-fix-problems-that-block-programs-being-installed-or-removed and follow the uninstall steps.  Repeat as needed.

Try installation again using the update you downloaded from your Autodesk Account.

Back in Windows Control Panel/Program and Features

Is the Desktop Connect application there or not?   Log is failing on it again..   Just wanted to confirm.

Update:  Also there should be a few log files associated to this update.  Can you zip and attach here.

It wasnt on the Apps & Features list to begin with. The only thing I was able to uninstall was Autodesk Guide Tutorial Plugin.

Then use the Microsoft Fixit link and check to make sure its not in the list of applications that can be uninstalled.

I ran Microsoft Fixit and it was not listed on their either. I've attached a new log file for your reference.

You said there are a few other log files associated with the update. What is the file path to those logs so that I can provide them?

Your update fails during the stop for/of the "LWS service".

Can you please check if you have one or more processes called "node.exe" in your tasklist ?

regards

Markus

Hhm,

okay can you please make a screenshot of your "uninstall programs" dialog so that we can see which version you have installed:

And can you please also check if you have this folder:

Looks like I dont have Autodesk Desktop Connect Service

Also, I do have the AutoDesk Desktop Connect folder, however nothing comes up when I type in "forever" in the file path.

I reformatted my laptop with a clean install of Windows. Still getting the same issues. I still do not have Autodesk Desktop Connect Service on my computer either. I attached my new logs for you to review.
