Just use this method

Download and install per:

1. Access the Autodesk Virtual Agent (link is in my signature) and follow the download links to your product.
2. Download all of the parts (some applications only have a single part to download) for your product first. Do not continue until all of the parts have fully downloaded.
3. Navigate to your download folder location and extract (double click) part _001_00X.sfx.exe (or the single file download).
4. In a few seconds the extraction will start and prompt you to extract to C:\Autodesk.
5. Once the extraction is finished, the installation will automatically start.
6. Follow the installation steps for your product

If you want the full recommended installation steps, click on the installation link in my signature.

Good luck on your installation.

You accepted my reply as a solution but you failed to follow any of those steps.  Smiley Wink

If you are seeing anything related to the download manager then you are using the wrong method.   The virtual agent has nothing to do with the download manager so I know for a fact you are not using the correct method or the steps I provided.

Follow my steps and you should be able to install your product.

I followed each step above again and got the same results. The cursor hovered above the files that downloaded are shown in the screenshot I attached and it is related to the Autodesk Download Manager.

I have spent the last hour trying to figure out how to do this and reading about it and haven't had much luck.  I am not much of a computer guy but I know I followed your steps.

I want to clarify also that I am not trying to argue with you, I'm just trying to figure out this problem to get a solution.

Thanks again

If you downloaded the part or parts from Autodesk Virtual Agent you should see (assuming its the English version) these files in your download folder.

32b Windows Operating System

AutoCAD_2017_English_Win_32bit_dlm.sfx.exe (1.7 GB)

64b Windows Operating System

AutoCAD_2017_English_Win_64bit_dim_001_002.sfx.exe (2 GB)
AutoCAD_2017_English_Win_64bit_dim_002_002.sfx.exe (281 MB)

If you do are the files the correct size as I indicated?

If everything looks good, when you double click on the first file listed for your operating system it should start the extraction and prompt you to extract to C:\Autodesk.  It does take a second or so before the extraction location message to pop up.

Thanks Mark, sorry for the trouble.  I had to do some reading and decided to retry using the download manager which ended up working for me.  I appreciate everything. (:

No problem glad to help and glad to hear its working now for you...

I also have to say that I didn't realize the extraction method of files coming from the Virtual Agent still used the Download Manager service/interface.   Learn something new today..

Yesterday was a busy day for me and when I quickly looked at your image and saw the Download Manager message I just assumed you were using the wrong method thus my reply.  So sorry about that since it was incorrect Smiley Sad (and you were actually following the steps)..
