Hi Team,
I have a major question here in regards to "Installation Information in General"...
Are there instances when, or where a "New Load", or Re-load / Installation, or Re-installation can "over-write" the existing folder structures or the basic layout of AutoCAD?
The reason I ask is that after having several versions of the software loaded obviously there will be differences. I have noticed when I personally load AutoCAD it seems to work much better than when my "IT" group does the load, or pushes down an upgrade. Keep in mind, (since I am on subscription), I have no control about which AutoCAD version I am allowed to use in my office.
The best example I have is the running versions of AutoCAD2017 on my 2 computers... With my personal load (on my laptop) the program seems to "Fly" with no issues other than the occasional glitch here and there. the worst problem (in which I got my hand slapped) was remapping to the license server. With my desktop / IT Load, I have all kinds of issues. Keep in mind this was an "IT policy group load" so... there was and continues to be all kind of issues. Usually, I will try a version at home (the 30 day trial) and provided our office is supporting that version, I will simply export my menus (custom *.pgp files, or *.lsp etc., etc., etc…) load / install the newer version & then import my custom / back-up files. There usually are no issues and like I said before, at worst there may and issue mapping to the license server.
I’m hoping to "over-write" the IT load, (if possible) in order to get my desktop working as well as my laptop which is why I am asking the question here on the forum.
As usual if anyone has any helpful information it would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Milt
