Installation Error

My name is John, and today I signed up for the educational download of Maya 2016. I am running an Intel i-6700, 16 gig of ram  and Windows 10 Pro x64 fully updated. I downloaded the installation file (twice) and get the following installation error. "The systen cannot open the device or file specified  C:\Autodesk\WI\Autodesk Maya 2016\x64\Direct Connect\Autodesk Direct Connect 10.0 msi" I tried both offline and online for the installation. I tried Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. I also turned off the firewall and AntiVirus to see if those were the problem, all to no avail. Any ideas ??????

Hello jtespinosa1024 and welcome to the Autodesk community!

It looks like you're seeing the "The system cannot open the device or file specified" error. This error typically occurs if you use Trend Micro Anti-Virus software. The following article(s) should help you resolve the problem:

Error: "The system cannot open the device or file specified"

Excuse Otto he is a bot

Appear the download files are either broken or corrupt..Did you try downloading from Virtual Agent? if not a link is available in my signature

PS: in some cases Antivirus/firewalls you might need to completely shut them down not just disable. Terminate them completely (check for any AV background running tasks/processes in the task mannager and stop it if possible)
