Downloading and Installing AutoCAD 2017

HELP!!!!  I am having trouble getting AutoCAD 2017 to download and install.  The software appears to download but not install; I have tried several times and get the same several error messages.  I have looked at YouTube videos...asked CAD instructors...tried finding a support number to call...all to no avail.  Is there anyone out there that can help?  Thank you!!!

Welcome to the community

Without the installation log file we can only speculate what the issue may be.  However I will assume its based on the method you're using..

Download and install per:

1. Access the Autodesk Virtual Agent (link is in my signature) and follow the download links to your product.
2. Download all of the parts (some applications only have a single part to download) for your product first. Do not continue until all of the parts have fully downloaded.
3. Navigate to your download folder location and extract (double click) part _001_00X.sfx.exe (or the single file download).
4. In a few seconds the extraction will start and prompt you to extract to C:\Autodesk.
5. Once the extraction is finished, the installation will automatically start.
6. Follow the installation steps for your product

I apologize but I do not understand when you say the solution (link) is in your signature.  I was trying to download/install prior to your message.  Again, I got the same error messages...even tried disabling anti-virus/firewall..trying to do a PrintScreen to show some of the error messages but it will not work. Below is the "Installation Log File" detailing what did (not) download/install.  Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated!!!

Please stop using the method you are using that is why its failing to install..  You are trying to download and install using the web installer and it keeps failing..  Its not going to work.

However we found out an about an hour ago the link in the Autodesk VIrtual Agent for AutoCAD 2017 is downloading Acad LT 2017...  The link to the Autodesk Virtual Agent is my signature if you look at my reply on-line.

So instead, download both parts here if you have a 64bit operating system, do you?

1. Download all of the parts for your product first. Do not continue until all of the parts have fully downloaded.
2. Navigate to your download folder location and extract (double click) part _001_00X.sfx.exe
3. In a few seconds the extraction will start and prompt you to extract to C:\Autodesk.
4. Once the extraction is finished, the installation will automatically start.
5. Follow the installation steps for your product

Update:  Although you were probably unaware of this, but when you post or share stuff here, please make sure it doesn't include your personal information such as your serial #. This is a world wide user forum and that type of info should not be included in your posting. Granted the installation log file helped us to determine your root cause (but it did contain your serial #)... So in the future remove or blur it out before posting. I will have the moderator remove it in order to protect your information.

Anything that got installed before it failed, most likely got uninstalled but even if it didn't, the method you will be using will skip over those items.   However you could still run into a situation and this new method could still fail since you have tried it already a couple of times already..

I am trying to install using the two links you just sent in the email - I checked software installs and did not see anything related to AutoCAD, so hopefully this will work.  If the installation continues to fail, what can I do?  Or am I out of luck?

It sounds like you are not following the steps I provided.  The links I sent do not and I mean do not install anything..  You are just downloading the compressed installation files to your machine.

You have to go to your download location and double click on part 1 of the 2 parts you downloaded.   From there it will start the extraction and then it will prompt you to extract to C:\Autodesk...  Once the extraction is completed the installation will take place.

That's just it - I do not see a Part 1 or 2. Either nothing downloaded or I do not know where to look to see if it downloaded; the latter is more likely. There is nothing under "Programs."

When I go to the website, my options are to download...which you said not to do.

Is there someone that I can speak with? I am trying...
