This question has a lot of answers depending on what you are trying to accomplish. Assuming a lot here are some quick answers for you.
Have you read up on the deployment tool? This will create a deployment you can launch for each user. I would suggest you create one modify it the way you need then use it as a template for deployment.
To create the autocad environment I would do one of the following.
A simple answer.
Use the migrate tool and except what you get.
A little bit better answer.
- Export the profiles to a location and import it to each user.
- Breakup your custom menu to an enterprise menu that appends to the latest acad menu. This way you get the best of both worlds. The commands everyone has always used and the new commands from the newest autocad menu.
Last answer.
Use sysvdlg to figure out what you really need to change and understand why you are making the changes from the defaults. Import JUST the changes you need and want into the new autocad.
Create the enterprise menu.
The administration headaches are far less using one enterprise menu than trying to keep a bunch of local setup running the way each person wants them. Mine has workspaces per discipline but you can make it per user also if you had to. You as administrator can control what they get on that first load and how much they can change. If this is not enough your users can create and save their own workspaces in their local menu that takes advantage of the enterprise menu.
All of these answers may be mixed and matched or even added to. As a company we decided to make autocad installs out of the box and we do everything through either a lisp routine or the enterprise menu. Once this is done use that deployment tool to create a decent start to a uniformed office.
